These are the terms under which you use fiveanddime. They are short and written in plain language on purpose. If anything is unclear, email support@fiveanddime.tools before you buy.
What you're buying
fiveanddime is a point-of-sale application built for craft-fair and booth vendors. When you buy a license, you get a license key that unlocks the application on your devices and gives you access to the shared fiveanddime code library we host.
You pay once. The license is perpetual. There is no subscription and no recurring fee. New versions and features we release are included for the life of your license, at no extra cost.
Payments are processed by Square.
What you can do with it
- Install and use fiveanddime to run sales at your booth, your shop, or any other business you operate.
- Use it on as many of your own devices as you need.
- Customize your own spreadsheet, settings, catalog, and data however you like.
- Add columns, helper sheets, or your own notes to your spreadsheet. We never overwrite columns we didn't create.
What you can't do with it
- Share, sell, transfer, or sublicense your license key. The key is for you (the buyer named on the purchase) and your business.
- Redistribute the fiveanddime code, the library, the spreadsheet template, or any part of the application to someone else.
- Resell fiveanddime under your own brand, or use it as the basis of a competing product.
- Reverse-engineer or extract the library to get around the license key or library-access controls. Reading the code you can see in your own Apps Script editor is fine. Redistributing it is not.
Your data is yours
fiveanddime stores your sales, catalog, customers, and settings in a Google Sheet in your own Google account. We do not host your data, and we do not collect telemetry.
Our licensing service keeps only what it needs to run your license: your license key, your email, your backend URL, and a fingerprint. The fingerprint is a short random tag (like FP-ABCDEF) we create when we issue your license. It appears on your receipts so a leaked license key can be traced back to the buyer it was issued to. That, plus what Square keeps to process your payment, is the only data we hold about you.
If you stop using fiveanddime, delete the spreadsheet from your Drive and your data is gone. No export step needed; you already have it.
No warranty
fiveanddime is provided "as is." We make a good-faith effort to keep it working and to fix problems quickly, but we do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for any particular purpose. Use it for your business with that understanding.
No software replaces keeping your own backups, reconciling your books, and checking your tax calculations. fiveanddime includes automatic backups, per-event reports, and per-event tax rates. Treat them as a starting point for your records, not the final word.
Limit of liability
The most we will ever owe you, for any reason connected to fiveanddime, is the amount you paid for your license. We are not responsible for lost sales, lost data, lost time, or other consequential damages from your use of the application.
30-day money-back guarantee
If fiveanddime doesn't work for you, email support@fiveanddime.tools within 30 days of purchase and we will refund you in full. No questions asked. After 30 days, refunds are at our discretion. We will try to be reasonable.
Ending the license
You can stop using fiveanddime any time by deleting the spreadsheet and the app from your devices. Your license key stays valid, so you can come back later.
We may end your license only for cause: a serious breach of these terms (reselling your key, redistributing the software, or abuse). Ending a license for cause comes with no refund. The 30-day guarantee is for honest dissatisfaction, not for recovery after a breach.
If we ever shut down the licensing service or the shared library, we will give every buyer at least 90 days' notice by email, along with guidance for keeping your data and continuing to use what you have.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version always lives at fiveanddime.tools/eula. If a change affects your rights or obligations, we will email buyers at least 30 days before it takes effect.
Everything else
These terms are the whole agreement about fiveanddime between you and us. Nothing said in marketing copy or conversation overrides them. If a court ever finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest still holds.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, USA. Any dispute that can't be settled by friendly conversation will be handled in the state or federal courts of Utah.
